Pleasanton Middle School (commonly known as PMS) is a public middle school in Pleasanton, California, a suburban community in the San Francisco Bay Area. The school is in the Pleasanton Unified School District, which also contains schools such as Harvest Park Middle School and Hart Middle School. The school's motto is 'Kids Come First'. About 1200 students attend this school, and their mascot is the Panther.There are about 65 teachers in the school.[1] The vice principal is Lisa Hague. They play other schools like Harvest Park Middle School, Hart Middle School and Junction Intermediate School in various activities and sports including basketball,volley ball, golf and wrestling. The school first opened in the year 1991.

Sports

Pleasanton Middle School fields the following teams. Boys Basketball - 3 teams: 6th grade - no score kept 7th grade and 8th grade - are competitive teams The season runs October - December with tryouts in September.

Girls Basketball - 3 teams: 6th grade - no score kept 7th grade and 8th grade - are competitive teams The season runs January - March with tryouts in December and/or January. We are members of the Tri-Valley Basketball League, which is an eight team league. Teams travel throughout Livermore, Dublin and Pleasanton.

Boys and Girls Wrestling - Open to all participants. The season runs from approximately January - March.

Boys and Girls Golf - Approximately 12 students are chosen for the team, which competes against other schools in the area from March - May. Tryouts are held in February.

Girls Volleyball - The season runs from April - May. Tryouts are held in March.

Boys and Girls Track - Open to all participants. The season runs from late March - May.

Cheerleading - The Panther Spirit Squad is chosen during the spring for the next school year. Cheer camp is attended during the summer. Cheer season requires year round participation.

Panther Mascot - If you’ve got school spirit and would like to be the Panther mascot at home games and rallies, watch for the sign-ups and information in September.

Color Guard - Open to all participants. Sign-ups are held in September. Practice is after school several times a week and they do attend competitions.
